From ladybugs and bumblebees to life-sized ants, dozens of students, decked out in their best Bug-ttire, filled the courtyard at Educare Arizona on Friday, February 24 for their 5th Annual Art Festival.
Each year, the art festival gives students and parents the opportunity to work together to create artwork that matches the selected theme. This year’s theme, Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, allowed them the opportunity to have a creative imagination and learn at the same time.
“It’s not always the case, but this year it just so happened to match the student’s curriculum,” said Julie Ramsey, Child Development Manager at Educare Arizona. “It teaches the parents what’s going on in the classrooms and allows them to work with their children in a creative way. In one of our classrooms, every single parent showed up to participate. It’s an amazing feeling to be a part organizing this great event.”
The festival included a display of each classroom’s artwork, face painting, rock painting, music and dancing, and puppet shows.
